Rapid Expansion Lifts Marten Law Attorneys Toward Top of Chambers Rankings
With new offices in Idaho and several new lawyers in Seattle and Portland, Marten Law has won recognition in the 2023 edition of Chambers and Partners - USA as one of the largest and best regarded environmental law practices in the Pacific Northwest. Seven Marten lawyers were recognized this year as leaders in the environmental field, in areas including water law, natural resources, mining, environmental review, chemical regulation, permitting and waste management.
Firm founder Brad Marten, ranked Band 1, was referred to by clients as "the dean of environmental law in the Pacific North West," and "an outstanding lawyer" "with extensive experience handling high-profile environmental litigation." Idaho practice leader Albert Barker, also ranked Band 1, was described as a strong practitioner who "regularly handles cases in the environmental and water law arena," and "displays additional strength" in a range of other areas.
Having already nearly doubled in size over the past year, the firm has hired five new lawyers who will be joining its Washington, DC, Seattle, Portland and Idaho offices this fall. It continues to recruit in order to meet the needs of clients addressing rapid change and new opportunities in the energy, transportation and manufacturing sectors.
