Permitting Renewable Energy Projects

In representing wind, biogas, solar, biomass, and hydroelectric power producers, we prepare and negotiate power purchase arrangements and infrastructure transmission access agreements. We capably advise clients on land use, environmental review, ESA, water rights, water quality, and air permitting matters arising during project planning, development, and through ongoing operations. We regularly represent private developers and utilities in state regulatory and FERC proceedings, courts, mediations and arbitrations. We also assist alternative energy clients in issues related to climate change and carbon sequestration. We have specifically advised clients on federal carbon sequestration policy, Department of Energy grants, and compliance with the suite of applicable federal and statue environmental laws.
