Panel Description:

In late 2022, EPA released a proposal to expand the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) program to recognize electricity produced from biogas and used to charge electric vehicles (EVs). The draft rule would allow EV manufacturers to generate tradeable credits—known as Renewable Information Numbers from renewable electricity (eRINs)—based on the number of light-duty EVs in their fleets and their contracts with generators of electricity produced from biogas. During this free virtual event, a panel of stakeholders from the fuel retail (including EV charging), biogas production, and EV manufacturing spaces will discuss key provisions in the proposal and what they could mean for electrification of ground transportation and advancing the Biden-Harris administration's environmental justice goals.

This event is sponsored by the ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources’ Agricultural Management Committee, Renewable, Alternative, and Distributed Energy Resources Committee, and Science and Technology Committee.
