Sarah Peterson’s practice focuses on litigation, permitting, and compliance counseling in matters involving environmental, energy, natural resources, land use, and product law. She helps clients navigate environmental impact review, renewable energy permitting, endangered species conservation requirements, product safety regulations, and disputes over water rights and environmental remediation.

Before joining the firm, Sarah clerked for the Honorable A. Wallace Tashima on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit (2016-2017) and for the Honorable Maxine M. Chesney on the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (2015-2016).

Sarah earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2015. While at Harvard, she interned at the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and at the Natural Resources Defense Council. She also participated in numerous projects in the Emmett Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, including representing the National Trust for Historic Preservation in litigation before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Sarah earned her undergraduate degree, with high honors, in politics and environmental science from the University of Virginia.
