IT Consultant - Seattle Office

Marten Law is seeking an IT Consultant to work with the attorneys and staff to support our growing environmental and energy law practice. The work is primarily on-premises at the Firm’s Seattle Office overlooking the Puget Sound in downtown Seattle. The successful applicant will reside in or near or be willing to relocate to Seattle by May 2022.

The IT Consultant responds to individual needs in support of PC software and hardware functionality and works closely with the Directory of IT and Information Governance in hardware purchase, installation, and troubleshooting, and ongoing management and maintenance of the Firm’s technology infrastructure.

This is a permanent, full-time position with exceptional benefits, a competitive salary, and a great work environment. We are looking for a smart, hard worker who has at minimum three years’ IT experience, preferably with a legal or professional services organizations.

Our team of lawyers includes recognized authorities in climate change, wind and solar development, air quality, water resources and water quality, endangered species, forestry, public lands, fisheries, environmental cleanup, and environmental and energy project review and permitting. We work throughout the United States on large-scale projects involving complex negotiations, transactions, and litigation. Our lawyers practice out of offices Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Washington, D.C.; Boston, Massachusetts; and Sun Valley, Idaho.

Some of your specific responsibilities at Marten will include:

  • Provide training and how-to information on the use of the firm’s technology.
  • Respond and provide timely resolution to requests for technology setup, resolution of software and hardware issues.
  • Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, research and implement immediate solutions, and provide input on permanent solutions.
  • Effectively communicate resolution of incidents to end users and ensure needs are met.
  • Escalate more complicated requests and incidents to other resources as necessary.
  • Record and track support incident details, communication, and resolutions.
  • Specify and purchase hardware to support end users and infrastructure.
  • Keep all backup hardware inventory in working order and ready for assignment as needed.
  • Track and record the movement of end-user hardware inventory.
  • Setup and support of conference room audio/video technology (includes audio, video, and web conferencing technologies).
  • Maintain close interaction with telecom and IT vendors.
  • Assist with updating website as needed.
  • Provide after-hours, emergency support as needed.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

You can expect the following hours and benefits:

  • A full-time position, working Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be occasional off-hours work as IT work demands. This may include occasional work after 5 p.m., for example, in finalizing quarterly or annual financial information.
  • Potential for occasional travel in support of office setup in other markets (currently including Portland, Boston, and Washington D.C.)
  • Annual salary set at $75,000.
