John W. Elting
John joined Marten Law Group as its Executive Director in 2004. He is responsible for directing and overseeing the business decisions of the firm.
John’s considerable business experience was gained outside of the legal industry, providing him with a fresh perspective and pragmatic insight into running a law firm. After training within GE’s Financial Management Program, John co-founded an electrical manufacturers’ representative business. From there, he went on to manage increasingly large business operations, including a term as COO of Applied Power Corporation, an energy subsidiary of Idaho Power.
John has overseen the implementation of a new document system which allows anyone at Marten Law to call up any document in our files in an electronic format. He has also helped the firm redesign its web site, adding a news service to deliver timely updates of significant environmental cases and regulations to our clients. John continues to define and guide the firm’s five year plan, including its expansion into new areas and new markets.
John is actively involved in a number of civic and non-profit organizations in the Puget Sound region.
