Alcoa Inc.: Cleanup of Former Aluminum Smelter Site

We assisted Alcoa in the negotiation of the cleanup of the site of a World War II-era aluminum smelter. Cleanup activities included capping PCB-impacted river sediments, as well as the cleanup of groundwater underneath site landfills, USTs on a nearby river dike, and hydrocarbon-impacted areas.

Negotiated consent decrees with the Washington Department of Ecology, settled with other potentially responsible parties, and assisted in the transfer of the remediated site the new owner.
